Rother Environmental Group (REG) had a good turn out for its 2016 Annual General Meeting in The George on Tuesday November 21. Group Chair, Dominic Manning, gave a review of events during 2016, including a very successful visit to Dungeness Power Station, and talks on State of Nature in Rother by Dr. Barry Yates and the value of walking for health by Dr. Scarlett McNally. Group Secretary, Stephen Clift, introduced the REG programme for 2018.
The main highlight for next year is a talk by Prof. Dave Goulson, Sussex University, on ‘Saving Bumblebees’ on Tuesday May 24 2018 in Rye. The AGM was then followed by a talk from Sue Burton, one of the REG Trustees and Sustrans Co-ordinator for Hastings and Rother, on the work of Sustrans and the National Cycle Network. The national Sustrans network can be viewed on its website, double-clicking on the relevant section of the featured map.
