Christmas kicks off to an early start with a variety of events this weekend – some of which may provide ideas and opportunities for presents, while others may just offer a break from life’s routines.
Pantomime is back at Rye Community Centre this Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25, with shows of “Aladdin” by Acting Up in Rye at 7:30pm on Friday and 2:30pm and 7:30pm on Saturday.
Tickets are £7 for adults and £4 for the under 16s from Pocket Full of Rye at 5a High Street or on the door before the performance.
And on Sunday November 26 the Wurlitzer theatre organ bursts into sound under the hands of David Ivory at the Milligan Theatre in Love Lane from 2:30 pm.
There are a number of Christmas and craft fairs includin,g
- On Saturday November 25 from 10am to 1pm a Christmas Fayre at All Saints, Icklesham featuring Santa, cakes, produce and all you might expect including refreshments
- A pre-Christmas show at Ocean Ceramics at 7 Windmill Way, Winchelsea Beach, Saturday and Sunday with a free tea or coffee and cake to tempt you
- Rye Harbour’s Arts & Crafts at the Sailing Club and Avocet Gallery all weekend from 10:30am to 4:30pm with around 60 artists and crafters on show. The show then continues at the Avocet until December 17 on Thursday-Sunday between 10:30am and 4:30pm
- And on Sunday there is a Christmas Craft Fayre at Winchelsea Beach Hall from 11am to 4pm with refreshments including mulled wine and homemade cakes.
