Clownfish
Clownfish have thoroughly enjoyed their superhero topic especially our superhero dress-up day.
The children spent the day designing and creating their own superhero spoon puppets. During the afternoon we had a surprise visit from Spiderman. The children were so excited to see him and had plenty of questions to ask him.
From Marvel heroes to everyday heroes a great day was had by all.
Cuttlefish
We have also worked hard on our 2, 4 and 8 times tables. Please, please keep practising these over half term too.
In PE we have been playing volleyball and improving our gymnastics skills.
Wishing you all a fantastic half term.
Minnows
The Minnows have been learning the story of the little red hen this term. As part of their learning, we all visited the local bakery. We bought back different types of bread for us to taste in class. The French stick was the favourite! Later the delicious smell of freshly baked bread wafted up the corridor from our classroom as we all worked together (unlike the poor little red hen) to make a loaf of bread.
We have lots of fun experiencing all different types of weather this autumn in our forest school sessions and have enjoyed observing the changes in nature at this time of year.
Pugwash
The children have made a brilliant start to the new school year and we have welcomed new children who have settled in really well, they are making great progress with learning new nursery routines.
We have been making the most of the last of the sunshine, exploring our garden finding bugs. The children have also had the opportunity to go to forest school, lots of fun was had whilst painting with blackberries!
We are focusing on autumn this term and have been reading the story owl babies, the children have re-enacted out the story and explored colour mixing to paint pictures.
All parents should have now received an email link inviting them to class dojo. Please can you follow the link and instructions to set up as we use this as a way of communicating and sharing news. Please speak to a member of the nursery team if you have any problems with this.
Seahorses
We have absolutely loved learning about superheroes this term. We had an amazing time on our superhero day learning all about puppets. We thought about different types, what they are made of and how they are joined together. We discussed what makes a puppet fun to play with and then made our very own wooden spoon superhero puppets. Whilst taking a break from our work we were surprised by a special superhero visitor – Spiderman! He came to visit us in the playground and showed us some of his climbing tricks and answered lots of questions!
