After being cancelled due to the pandemic for the last two years, the Rye News annual sloe gin competition is being held this year on Tuesday, March 29 at the Waterworks Micropub.
Judging will start at 8pm. Entries must be in a glass container, containing at least 100ml of sloe gin for judging (more if possible so we all can have a taste). It must be homemade and labelled with name of person entering.
If you cannot come on the evening you can leave your sloe gin at the Waterworks with your contact details. There will be a panel of at least three judges to sip, swirl and sniff their way through the entries. All entries will be blind tasted by the judges.
There is no entry fee: a donation to Rye News would be welcome. It is mainly a bit of fun, but with a bit of competitive edge. The last competition in 2019 saw some amazing sloe gins that were delicious.
