The Rye News annual sloe gin competition takes place on Wednesday, March 1, and once again we are privileged to be hosted at the Waterworks Micropub.
Judging will start at 7:30pm.
All entries are to be in a glass container containing at least 100ml of sloe gin for judging purposes (more if possible so we all can have a taste), it must be homemade, and labeled with the name of the person entering. If you are unable to be there on judging night, you can leave your sloe gin at the Waterworks with your contact details.
This year’s competition will include the spirit-based home brew tipple category. A panel of at least three Judges will sip, swirl and sniff their way through the entries which will all be blind-tasted.
Everyone with a good constitution is most welcome to come along, support the event, and sample the brews entered.
Last year after a two year absence due to the pandemic, ten sloe gins were entered, the winner being Carol Pankurst of Hastings.
