A first for Camber. Come along and get stuff for FREE…. . Yes that’s right bring items along if you have some you don’t want, and have look around for items that you may like and not a penny changes hands.

The calm before the storm - will the idea work?

The idea is to recycle in the conventional way BUT also to reduce landfill and make use of unwanted items.

Also you don’t necessarily have to bring things along ( although you may surprise yourself with some items lying around the house or garage that you did not know what to do with!) but come and browse and pick up new to you useful pieces.

The first Swap Shop on Saturday May 14 attracted 44 people and helped to prevent a total of 128 items, weighing 82.65 kg from ending up in Landfill. We had around 4.5 kg of left over items and have stored some for future events.

None of this would have been possible without the valuable help and guidance from Mike Pepler and the team from Transition Rye. Thank you for all your support. Your presence was much appreciated and we learnt a lot from you.

We cannot accept any items that are to big to easily carry and no mains electrical items.
Camber Community Group hope to have another in around September so watch this space.
