Rye News is delighted to welcome some commercial giants to take part in our annual sloe gin competition this Friday, March 30 at Olde Worlde Wines in Cinque Ports Street from 7:30pm. Reigning sloe gin world champion Mothers Ruin gin is made in East London by owner Becky Griffith who uses a recipe handed down from her mother.  Runner up Anno gin will also be making an appearance. Their distillers use Romney Marsh samphire as an ingredient. The final commercial company to compete will be Demijohn from Scotland who won best artisan sloe gin three years running, 2014-6 in the world championships.
Local gin makers will also be able to taste each others efforts and compare them with the professionals.
