With four weeks to go there is still ample time to prepare and decide which entries you will bring along to the Rye Flower and Veg Show on Saturday, August 19 at the Rye Community Centre. You can find all the details for making your entry at our website www.ryeflowerandvegshow.co.uk or in the schedule booklet which you will see around the town.

For those of you who are regulars, we are really looking forward to seeing you again this year and for those of you who might be entering for the first time we have posted lots of helpful tips on the website, our Instagram account and Facebook. Colourfully described and illustrated by Shelley, one of our organisers, you will have a chance to see exactly how to present your produce. There are tips on showing gourds, embroidery, heaviest squash, chard, chutney, fruit and other classes.

One of the most important things to remember is that your entries must be registered with us by 5pm on Friday, August 18 and the produce must be brought along to the community centre before the deadline of 11:30am on Saturday, August 19.

The judges are lined up, the stewards are ready to go and the prizes and awards are all waiting to be presented. Helena, Shelley and I are looking forward to welcoming you all on the day.

Oops and before I forget, for those of you who haven’t quite got organised enough to enter this year then the show is open to public viewing from 2pm. You can pop along to see what’s on display. Tea and cakes, courtesy of the Landgate WI will be available too.
