Rye College opened its doors to prospective students and their families with a special event on Wednesday September 25. The open evening gave them an opportunity to explore the school’s academic and extra-curricular programmes, tour the site, and meet with staff and current students.

This open event is an informative and engaging experience, showcasing the unique learning environment that has made Rye College a cornerstone of education in the Rye community since 1636.

Student Ambassadors

During the event attendees enjoyed:

Guided tours: led by current students, families had the chance to explore classrooms, science labs, libraries, and other key facilities.

Meeting the faculty: teachers from all subject areas were available to discuss curriculum, teaching methods, and support services.

Engaging in interactive workshops: sampling hands-on workshops allowed prospective students to experience the dynamic teaching style that Rye College is known for.

Hearing from school leadership: a special presentation by the head teacher Mr Dom Downes outlined the school’s vision, mission, and future goals.

Learning about extracurriculars: clubs, sports teams, and other activities that showcase how students can engage outside the classroom.

Dom Downes expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “Our open evening is a fantastic way for families to experience what makes Rye College unique. From our dedicated teachers to our diverse range of activities, we aim to provide an environment where every student can thrive.”
