RNLI Rye Harbour is extremely proud of three youngsters, Haiden, Skye and Toby. They are part of the fundraising team that took on the challenge of walking a mile a day for the RNLI’s May Day challenge.

To mark the end of this marathon friends and family met at the village hall where Rye Harbour Herrings sang ‘For they are Jolly Good Fellows’ and the youngsters received a well-deserved round of applause.

Haiden completed the task in his wheelchair arriving home from school and heading out to the nature reserve to do his mile each day. Some members of the crew joined him to show their support. Lucy Green put on her boat crew kit and walked alongside him on many occasions and supported Skye and Toby too. She certainly goes the extra mile in all she does.

The RNLI relies on donations and fundraising and it is heartening to see the youngsters take up the baton.
